Allan E. Swedelson, CPA

Al left Public Accounting in 1965 to join the firm of Jerome S. Goldberg & Associates, and establish an administrative department for the creation and servicing of Qualified Pension and Profit Sharing Plans. In 1969 Al and his senior partner, Jerry Goldberg, formed Goldberg, Swedelson & Associates, Incorporated.
 
With over 50 years in the business, Al is our most experienced team member. He continues to provide immeasurable service to our clients and embodies the GSA vision of providing the utmost highest quality of service.  Al graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a degree in Business Administration and is a lifetime member of the California  Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Mark D. Swedelson, CPA

Mark is the third generation of this family owned pension consulting practice, joining the firm in 1990. A former Senior Accountant with Coopers & Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers), Mark completed the American Society of Pension Actuaries' designation of Qualified Pension Administrator. Mark is also a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, where he served on the Employee Benefits Taxation Committee. He is currently serving on the AICPA Employee Benefits Tax Technical Resource Panel. Mark has spoken before accounting, professional and financial advisor groups. Mark graduated from California State University at Northridge with a degree in Business Administration and an emphasis on Accounting Theory and Practice.

Marla L. Hunt, QPA, QKA

Marla is a Senior Retirement Plan Administrator who joined the firm in August 2018 with over 20 years of experience working with retirement plans.  She currently holds Qualified Plan Administrator and Qualified 401k Administrator designations from the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries.  Marla has experience in many different areas of retirement plans including investments, employee education, plan design and implementation, annual plan testing, calculations and administration work, government filings, corrections with the IRS and DOL and audits for both small and large plans.  Away from the office, Marla enjoys riding motorcycles with her husband and the beach.

Laurie J. Harmon, QPA, QKA

Laurie is a Senior Retirement Plan Administrator with over 29 years of experience, joining the firm in 2019.  Laurie completed the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries' designation of Qualified Pension Administrator and Qualified 401(k) Administrator.  She specializes in third party administration for retirement plans of private employers of any size, with emphasis and strength in cash balance, cross-tested, daily valued and semi-bundled plans.  She has a great deal of experience in services ranging from plan design and implementation, to employee education, annual compliance testing and government reporting.  Laurie is a graduate of Carroll College in Helena, Montana with a degree in Applied Mathematics in Business and Economics.

Cammie L. Hembree, QKA

Cammie is a Retirement Plan Administrator who joined the firm in January 2021. She concentrates in annual compliance testing, calculations, government reporting, administration work, preparing Plan documents and proposals for our clients. She currently holds a Qualified 401k Administrator designation from the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries. Cammie is a graduate from the University of North Dakota with a Bachelors of Business Administration in Financial Management and Marketing. Away from the office, she enjoys spending time with her family either skiing in the mountains, watching her girl’s sporting events or traveling.

Stella J. Juarez, APA

Stella joined the company in December of 2021 as a Senior Retirement Plan Administrator.  She has been in the Pension Industry for over 13 years growing from Receptionist into her current role as Senior Plan Administrator. Stella received her Accredited Pension Administrator credentials through National Institute of Pension Administrators and specializes in the administering of Retirement Plans from Employee Plans to owner only Plans.  Familiar with annual reconciliation of Plan assets, Non-Discrimination Testing, calculation of contributions, discussion of Plan documents and completing annual reporting forms.

Michael G. Morente, QKA

Michael started working for GSA in 2016 as an administrative assistant and has worked his way up to become the lead Plan Administrator for EZ Plans. Aside from assisting clients, preparing annual valuations and managing our company database program, Michael is the office tech guy. His attention to detail and graphic design skills have helped GSA produce a number of resources, such as this website. Outside the office, Michael likes attending music festivals, traveling and cooking.  He graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in Business Administration.

Heather A. Clare

Heather joined our team in 2019. She graduated from the University of California, Irvine with a bachelor’s degree in International Studies. She facilitates distributions and provides support to our various departments. She has completed the ASPPA Retirement Plan Fundamentals and NIPA Distributions Administrator courses. Outside of the office she enjoys dancing and practicing yoga.

Pany F. Rumteen

Pany joined the firm in 2000. As mother of two beautiful children, Pany balances her time between being a superstar wife and mother, and working at GSA. Pany's areas of expertise include annual valuations, data packages, documents, annual reporting forms and extensions. Additionally, she is our ShareFile guru, expertly troubleshooting and assisting our clients with this cutting edge secure enterprise file share system. Outside of the office, Pany can often be found blowing off steam at a spin or boxing class. Her outgoing personality and easygoing nature make her a favorite around the office and with our clients. Pany graduated from California State University Northridge with a bachelor's degree in Psychology.

Daisy Y. Huerta

Daisy joined the firm in 2016. She assists the different departments of our company by preparing election forms for clients, sending out data packages, and handling the daily office activities needed to keep the office running smoothly. Daisy is in the process of completing the Retirement Plan Fundamentals course from the ASPPA Retirement Plan Academy. She enjoys working out every day by lifting weights every morning and practicing yoga in the evenings. She also enjoys playing video games, practicing guitar, and learning French. Daisy graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a degree in History.

Esperanza Candido

Espie joined the firm in 1993 after graduating from Pasadena City College with a degree in Office Administration. Her bilingual skills and charismatic personality make her a favorite of many of the firm's contacts. Espie attended the NIPA Basics of Retirement Plans and passed the Pension Administrator's 1st course. She is in the process of completing the 2nd and 3rd courses to further her education in the pension field. Espie handles all Participant distributions, including loans and hardships for our clients.

Marcy Chambers

Marcy has been a part of the GSA family for over 10 years. She joined the firm in 2002 and is an expert on all things Goldberg, Swedelson & Associates. As Office Manager, her primary role encompasses administrative procedures and ensuring that the office is properly equipped. She is also responsible for coordinating data packages, terminations, Plan assemblies, preparing documents and e-filing. Outside the office, Marcy is an avid student of international cuisine and loves to spend time with her children and grandchildren. Her warmth and infectious smile brighten the office considerably.

Stephanie Fedoroff

Stephanie joined our team in 2021.  She facilitates all Participant distributions and assists with e-filing and billing.  Stephanie also oversees reception and clerical duties in-office.  She has completed the ASPPA Retirement Plan Fundamentals Course.  Outside the office, Stephanie enjoys attending concerts, watching films and oil painting.  She graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a degree in Art and Art History.
